Easy Street

Elijah wanted to play put-put golf, so we went to Easy Street in Ocala, where they also have car racing and other fun stuff. He decided against the cars (though we watched Han go around and around and around). After a round of golf (Han won), we happened upon the rock climbing wall. It took a while for the guy to find a small enough harness for E, and to get it to fit. The rope was pretty cool, letting him down slowly. E barely weighed enough to bring himself down, and for a while the slow hanging decent was his favorite part. He did start climbing near the end. I think we'll be rock climbing again soon!

A Day Out with Thomas

A great weekend! Went to Seaworld Saturday. This time we also saw the pet show, which was very cool. We saw the baby dolphins and petted the sting rays. I taught Sunday morning, then we told E we were going to see a "friend" on the way home. Little did he know that the friend was Thomas! E fell asleep and woke up to see big 'ol Thomas sitting on the tracks. The train ride was very exciting for him (a little boring for us, but I just watched him anyway). They had a whole park set up with Thomas activities, a bounce house, band...all by Lake Dora. If not for the chilly wind (surprised us, we were all in shorts), it would have been perfect. If there are any other Thomas friends out there, you should check out the "Day Out With Thomas" traveling tour!

Easter 2007

Happy Easter! We had a wonderful day today! First, E sleeped in :-) When he finally woke up, he found a basket full of goodies from the Easter Bunny, as well as a new book from Grandma and a cool journal from Grandpa! He then ran around the house hunting for the many eggs the Easter Bunny hid (shhhh...I think there's one in his little toy grill he hasn't found yet!). Later we went to E's friend Alex's house for a huge party and Easter egg hunt. E had a great time in their awesome backyard, climbing this huge tree and jumping on the trampoline (well, until he hurt his ankle, but it was just a temporary hurt). Then the kids were off for the egg hunt and E really found the mother load! We went through, gave away all the stuff he's allergic to and came home to negotiate how much candy a 4 year old should be allowed to eat. All in all, a great day, although we wish we could have spent it with our families. Hope ya'll had a great day!

OK, not only can she sing the heck out just about anything, but she's got a great sense of humor.

A Peepin’ Good Time

So, the weekend is almost over, but we had a great time. We did some shopping and got solar spot lights I’ve been wanting for a while. After trying to angle the solar panel towards the sun all day, we felt we had charged them up quiet a bit. And we had, but the “spot lights” look like tiny little specks. Oh well, we saved the receipt. E and I made some Twinkie cars for his Easter party at school. I wish I could take credit for the design, but I found a picture on the web. We played a bunch outside, watched the game (ok, so I feel asleep again), and I found new motivation to resume my morning walks (thanks to Kansas’s loan – season 2 of Greys). Oh, also finally watched The Prestige, which I like better than the Illusionist, but both were good.
